St Francis of Assisi Primary school was a merger of three schools housed in a mish-mash of Victorian buildings. In 2001 they successfully bid for a share of a £13m capital funding to build an architecturally inspiring "classroom of the future". Pupils feel the "no corners" classroom makes them special but difficulties with time management and budget means there are unresolved issued with the building.
